Produced by Robert Schwartz of Labrador Pictures, executive producers Dave Barry, Jeff Arch, and David Shor, pre-production on the film began on March 15, 2004. The story of G2G began in 1998, on the island of Maui, where Dave and Jeff were both speakers at the Maui Writers Conference. They met and became instant friends. One day they took a walk and Jeff laid out a game plan for turning one of Dave's most popular and most loved books into a movie. Dave told Jeff he must be thinking of a different book; the GUIDE TO GUYS had no characters and no story, and that most of the movies Dave had seen in his life tended to have those things. When Jeff assured Dave that this was the book he meant, Dave said he was crazy. Jeff said he knew he was crazy but there was still a good movie in the book. By then Dave had to go to the bathroom, so he said all right.

Fast forward to 2004, and they're ready to go. Jeff adapted the book and turned it into a movie script. It now has characters, and even something resembling a story, Dave plays himself - the Guide. Jeff is directing; locations are being scouted for the film, and casting begins in April. Stay tuned for further details - and don't forget to check out other parts of our site. Thanks for visiting!
